London Handel Players: A new programme of Sunday afternoon chamber music concerts in London @ The Charterhouse

A new programme of chamber music concerts in the glorious Great Chamber.
The Charterhouse, the ancient historic site and almshouse in Clerkenwell, is delighted to be hosting a series of Sunday afternoon concerts by the acclaimed London Handel Players in the grand atmosphere of its glorious Tudor Great Chamber.  The four one-hour concerts will explore the rich repertoire of baroque music, and each contrasts Handel with one of his great contemporaries.  Each concert will be repeated twice at 2.30-3.30pm and 4.00-5.00pm on:

The London Handel Players is a world class ensemble bringing together leading period-instrument specialists in the field of baroque chamber music. Closely associated with the London Handel Festival, they perform regularly at Handel’s church, St George’s Hanover Square and at the Handel House Museum and Wigmore Hall in addition to music societies and festivals worldwide.  This year they are extending their London Handel Festival programme, to include this series of concerts exclusive to the Charterhouse.
The Charterhouse, set deep within stone walls in the heart of Clerkenwell, is a remarkable assembly of historic buildings dating from the 14thcentury.  Over the years it has been a monastery, a grand Tudor mansion, a school and, as it has remained for over 400 years, an almshouse. In January 2017 parts of the Charterhouse opened to the public for the first time in its 660 year history, revealing to the public the great story of this sprawling urban oasis at the heart of London.
Profits from these concerts will be shared with the Charterhouse’s charity.
